I used to do the news but now I make content that’s way less depressing
Before
My journalism career started in Hollywood, in between semesters at Arizona State (go Devils). I wrote viral news stories for CNN’s digital platform when I was just an intern. I interviewed movie stars as a freelancer for Film Independent. But eventually, I graduated college and decided to take a more adventurous route - local news baby! First in Eugene, Oregon (KVAL-TV) and later in Baltimore, Maryland (WBFF).
I did all the things you could do in a newsroom - I was a reporter, anchor, producer, editor and yes, even a weather girl. I was also my own camera person, shooting and editing my own stories. Over the course of four years in the bizz, I covered all kinds of crazy sh*t, like crime, elections and county fairs. This front row seat to America gave me a whole new perspective on people, niche cultures, and their values. But most importantly, I won two Emmys and that’s what I need you to remember.
I eventually left the news industry to pursue storytelling in new ways. I worked a lot of odd jobs. I was a researcher on a Netflix true crime series called Heist, and I was an Associate Producer on an Amazon podcast called The Lamb, and for a while there, I sold gym memberships. Life is CrAzY sometimes amiright?
Now
Today, I help brands and people speak their truth on the internet. I’ve worked in the non-profit space, helping a wide variety of organizations drive awareness to their specific causes via the internet. I’ve also worked for big time comedians, carefully strategizing and crafting their online presence to keep butts in seats IRL.
